Thankful

This week I have been hit pretty hard in the face with persecution for some of my beliefs. Unlike the persecutions that some face, mine is one that I may never have been aware of had a brave friend not confessed her part in it. The Lord has truly been working in my heart through this experience and I wanted to share some things I am thankful for because it:
I am thankful for the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit that whispers into our hearts and nudges us to action.
I am thankful for Christian friends who walk in obedience to that nudging.
I am thankful for persecution and how the Lord draws us closer into his presence and sustains us during those times.
I am thankful for the example we have of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. A forgiveness that stretches as far as the east is from the west.
I am thankful for the power of our God who is so strong and mighty that he crushes the head of Satan and his attempts to gain a foothold into our lives.
I am thankful for Jehovah Rophe (the Lord who heals).

Sleep Stealer

For the past few nights my husband and I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping. All through the night we hear these intermittent thundering sounds that make the walls in our house vibrate. Consequently this causes the pictures on the walls to vibrate and it's incredibly loud. Last night it was so bad that I actually thought I might wake up to the news saying we had been bombed by the Russians. We've noticed this "thundering" off and on during the year that we have lived here, but it seems to be getting worse. Does anyone who lives around here have an idea as to what this phenomenon that has been stealing our sleep could be?
